FOUNDERS
Founded in 2016 by Mr. and Mrs. Machnik, Machnik Sickle Cell Foundation Uganda (MSF Uganda) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease (SCD).
Driven by a vision of a healthier, empowered generation, MSF Uganda strives to provide compassionate healthcare, life skills training, and vital education to communities across Uganda. Our foundation stands as a beacon of hope for those who have long suffered silently from the challenges of living with sickle cell disease.
Our Story
Driven by compassion and a personal commitment to fight sickle cell disease, Mr. and Mrs. Machnik established MSF Uganda in 2016. Having witnessed firsthand the immense challenges faced by individuals and families living with sickle cell disease, they were inspired to create a foundation that would bring hope, healing, and practical support.
What began as a small initiative has now grown into a vital lifeline for many. Machnik Sickle Cell Foundation Uganda (MSF) is dedicated to providing free medical care, counseling, nutrition support, life skills training, and community awareness programs. With over 850 patients currently under our care and growing numbers each day, our commitment to transforming lives is stronger than ever.
Our mission is clear: to control the spread of sickle cell disease through education, early testing, and compassionate care, empowering communities to build healthier and more hopeful futures. Every life touched and every family supported reminds us of our purpose—to be a beacon of hope for those battling sickle cell disease.

Our Mission
To control and manage the spread of sickle cell disease by promoting early testing, raising community awareness, offering free healthcare services, and empowering individuals with skills to achieve sustainable living.
Our Vision
To better serve the growing number of patients, MSF Uganda is actively working towards Building a Specialized Sickle Cell Hospital A dedicated facility for free treatment, medication, consultation, and counseling. Establishing a Vocational Training Center Providing life skills education to sickle cell warriors and their families to foster independence and resilience.
